Sankeien Garden in Yokohama
I am starting to get more confident about traveling around Tokyo. The Japan rail system was really quite scary to begin with but I saw little ones as young as seven or eight taking themselves to school and thought if they can do it then surely I would be able to master the transport system too.
I took the Tokyo Line out to Yokohama yesterday to visit the Sankeien Garden. Absolutely beautiful!!! The Sankeien Garden was created and built in 1906 by Sankei Hara, a successful Yokohama businessman who had built a fortune through his silk business.
The tranquility and peace in the garden had a wonderful almost therapeutic effect coming from the hustle and bustle of a big city.
I also was lucky enough to see a few wedding couples doing their photos. They looked so beautiful and so regal!!!!

Lovely photos Liesl, showing pretty little pockets of calm. It's always nice to have somewhere calm to escape to when you're surrounded by life in a big city.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyed my little escape!!!
